Photos and videos

Gems helps you choose photos and videos to share. Photo, video-frame and sound analysis runs on your iPhone using Apple frameworks and a bundled model. Media is not uploaded for this analysis. Apple Photos may download originals from iCloud when needed. Sharing sends the items you choose to the apps or people you select.

App data and feedback

Gems stores analysis results, selections and settings on your device. The app has no account system and includes no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. If you submit a development feedback report, it sends analysis previews, scores, edits, comparisons, capture times, saved locations and your notes to the configured development Mac. Full photos and videos are included when “Include Full Photos & Videos” is enabled; this option is on by default. Reports can also be shared using the share sheet.

Website and waitlist

This policy also covers fewgems.com and gems.photos. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and signup time in Cloudflare D1 to provide Gems early-access updates. The form does not store your IP address in the waitlist database. Cloudflare hosts the website and may process request information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect it. The site loads fonts from Google, which receives the requests needed to serve them.

Cookies and third parties

The site code sets no cookies and includes no analytics script. It stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage. Hosting services may also collect operational or usage information through features configured by the host. Apple, Cloudflare, Google and any app you choose for sharing handle information under their own privacy policies.

Purchases through Apple

The current app does not implement in-app purchases or collect payment details. If you make a purchase through Apple, Apple handles payment information under its own policies.

Children

Gems is a general-purpose photo tool. There is no age or birth-date field in the app or waitlist. Please do not submit children’s personal information in waitlist or feedback messages. Contact us if you believe information about a child has been submitted and should be deleted.

Your choices and deletion

You can change Gems’ Photos access in iOS Settings and choose what you share. You can turn off full media before submitting feedback and delete saved reports in Feedback Reports. Deleting a local report does not recall a delivered copy. Deleting the app removes its local app data; photos saved in your library remain there. Clear browser storage to remove the theme preference. Email us to request deletion of waitlist information or feedback you have sent.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when this policy changes.
